Our good friend Jillian VanZytveld dropped by the studio this weekend to take some progress shots for the show. Now we are really excited! Here are a few sneak peeks!

SEPTEMBER 7!! You, us, and Craft House

Full hustle mode here, getting ready for their debut at Craft House in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There will be a soft opening Friday, September 6 for First Fridays, a gallery/shop hop night. The grand opening reception is on Saturday, the 7th at 7 pm. Come celebrate with us!

We were given 100 year old ash trim. We stripped/sanded, and white washed it to give it new life. Zipped cord through it popped wheels on it, and called it a day! (It took a couple days..)

Hello! We are Ingrained!

Ingrained is a furniture/art/object project from Matt Loeks and Krystle Formsma. After meeting each other at an art show in the fall of 2012, we soon started forming new show ideas entangling our own passions. In the spring of 2013, we recognized our mutual love for woodworking and the bliss of making things by hand. Intersecting with our world of fast high tech, over produced things we felt drawn to starting our own branch of making things that felt like they had more connection. More warmth and humanity. There is a primitive need to play with wood and a desire to combine beauty and function. Object making is human, it is ingrained.

We are based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Are busy looking for a studio, getting more tools and getting off the ground. Getting ready for our debut on September 7, 2013. This is where you can follow our progress. Come along!
